Post Toyotas I should buy instead of a ‘18 WRX.
Somewhere below $20k means I can have 1 very nice Toyota or multiple cool Toyotas.

Toyota Lexcen wagon:
For when you want your Toyota-badged GM product to have a 3800 and be RWD, instead of a Quad-4 and be FWD.

Me too. It is the only Toyota I want.

The only things missing is a Geo Prism and a BRZ which is actually good. The Toyota Cavalier is hillarious. I am a bug fan of the iA. They actually look really good in real life but are not common where I live.

I’m going to start volunteering at the Lane and hey have one. Maybe one day I’ll get to drive it.

God, ain’t that the truth
![]() 10/04/2017 at 13:34 |

My biggest problem is hey need another 50hp for my daily use(jumping on and off interstate in one mile intervals) and by the time I get one that’s not beat and upgrade it, I’m looking at the same cost as a WRX which also has 2 more seats
![]() 10/04/2017 at 13:49 |
|
For me it was worth it to buy one and upgrade, hated the way the WRX drove. Couldn’t shake the ecomony car vibe from the way it drove. The motor was fun and all, but I also didn’t like how it fell on it’s face up top.

What year?
![]() 10/04/2017 at 14:24 |

My FR-S? 2013
The WRX? I’ve driven every generation at one point or another on track (I used to instruct), the 2015+ is better, but to me it’s still a heavy under-steering car with high CG and power tuned more toward low torque than top end.
![]() 10/04/2017 at 14:35 |
|
Yeah apparently the 2018 is even better for not feeling like an economy car but I’ve already resined to upgrade the radio and put sound deadening in. The problem with coming from a Lexus is I’m going to want some Lexus still in my dd. Also a minor tune apparently fixes that dogish up high motor.
![]() 10/04/2017 at 16:14 |
|
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, if coming from a more luxury car the WRX is probably just right to scratch the scportscar itch. I was coming the other way, owned a bunch of light RWD cars and the WRX felt too compromised.
![]() 10/04/2017 at 16:27 |
|
Yeah I have an LS400 right now. I kind of feel the WRX being a good step down as a DD until I have money and space to start collecting cars that don’t make sense daily(I.e. mk2 Supra/Sportcross Manual Swap)
![]() 10/04/2017 at 16:33 |
|
Funny... I’m thinking of getting an LS400 as my next winter beater (no offense meant!) to replace my E39 ...That or another turbo Saab
![]() 10/04/2017 at 16:55 |
|
The LS400 is actually an amazing winter car the 3/4 times it snows a year in Tennessee. Plus there decently inexpensive and comfy/heat up quick.
![]() 10/04/2017 at 17:57 |
|
Yeah, they’ve been on the list for a while, something shinier usually pops up before I end up pulling the trigger though. I used to trade out winter cars every year (well, rain cars, Oregon doesn’t get a lot of snow) thanks to Oregon’s no sales tax and low registration fees. The BMW has stayed around a while though, really hard to find a nicer car for less (mine was $1500 and has since paid me more than $6k in insurance payouts fro minor damages)
![]() 10/04/2017 at 19:53 |

That is awesome. You probably could drive it on one of their drive days since you will volunteer there. Their 800 is the only one I’ve seen in real life.

I hope I can. I think their hot hatch collection is my favorite.
